Always used as a tool to communicate the grandeur and hauty sophistication of the cine-characters, Chikan Kari has traditionally been present in larger than life movies. Devdas was among the recent movies to showcase the haute couture. In keeping with the social connotation of Chikan Kari, in Devdas it was used to good effect to display the sartorial extravaganza of the Zamindars.
